Description

GrowBall isn’t just another eat-to-grow kind of thing—it’s got this odd rhythm, honestly. You’re a gaping-mouthed slime blob with a hunger that doesn’t really quit. Every object smaller than your mouth is fair game. Just roam around, gobbling up whatever fits while sidestepping anything too big or dangerous-looking. Some players will rush ahead, inhaling stuff left and right. Others take their time figuring out the best route—there’s no single right way. It’s simple at first glance: control with a swipe or tap (on mobile), get bigger as you go along. But it doesn’t stay that simple for long; there are moments where caution actually pays off more than mindless munching. That kind of caught me off guard the first time, actually. There’s a candy-bright look to everything—the balls, the background objects—they all just sort of pop off the screen whether you’re on an iPad or phone. And while it does feel aimed more at kids or casual players, I have to say older folks who enjoy those quick-thinking puzzles might get something out of it too. Just don’t expect epic boss fights or elaborate story bits. It leans hard into its arcade roots: easy in, hard to put down once you start chasing higher scores.

To be honest, I went into GrowBall expecting maybe five minutes of distraction… but it grabbed me for way longer than that. There’s something genuinely satisfying about chomping through rows of snacks and junk and then—oops—suddenly finding yourself trapped between two things way bigger than you thought. At first it feels like every round is pure luck, but then you start spotting patterns in what to eat first or which direction gives a safer escape if things go sideways. Not every level felt perfectly balanced—sometimes it seems like all your options are bad ones—but there’s enough variety between stages to stop things from getting stale too quickly. I do wish there was just a bit more…well, I guess challenge later on? Still fun though.
