Description
Halloween Match Trio sort of brings you right into that seasonal spirit—if you like your candy with a side of puzzle-solving, at least. It’s not exactly reinventing anything but still, there’s something satisfying about sliding those little pumpkins or witch hats around, trying to get three (or more) in a row. The board fills up with cobwebby tiles and before you know it, well, you’re just focused on lining things up and watching for that chain reaction when power-ups go off.
You’ll see boosters like bombs or arrows pop up after matches—sometimes they turn a tough round into one big sweep. It keeps the pace moving, which is nice because sometimes these games slow to a crawl otherwise. Not so much here; it nudges you forward pretty gently as the levels tick by. Seventy-five stages sounds like a lot but honestly? The ramp-up is gradual enough that even newcomers can handle things without frustration.
It does lean hard into the Halloween theme: little bats fluttering at the edge and purple backdrops everywhere. Younger players might find this extra fun (the designs are pretty friendly), though older fans might wish for just a bit more strategy or surprise in later stages. Still—one round kind of blends into the next if you’re not careful, but that’s part of its casual charm. Just don’t expect too many twists along the way.

Jumped into Halloween Match Trio for what I thought would be just a quick session... ended up playing way longer than planned because I wanted to see what all the different boosters would do. Matching is smooth; dragging those Halloween icons feels oddly satisfying when you nail four or five in a row and watch an explosion clear half the board.
I did wish there was just one extra mechanic late-game—I mean, after level 40 or so, it all starts to blend together, you know? But I guess not every puzzler needs constant reinvention. That said, watching combos chain together can still make you smile unexpectedly.
It’s actually better for relaxing than hardcore challenge. If anything tripped me up, it was probably just wishing for slightly bolder surprises from those special items. Not disappointed though.
